THERAPY THAT LOOKS BEYOND THE SYMPTOMS
You’re more than what you’re going through.
Psychotherapy for adolescents and
adults in Indiana and Illinois
THERE’S MORE TO THE STORY
Understanding what’s happening starts with understanding you.
What you’re experiencing now is only part of the picture. At Ascend, we look at the experiences, relationships and patterns that may be contributing to it, too.
A diagnosis can help guide treatment, but it doesn’t define the person sitting in front of us.

COUNSELING

One-on-one therapy for adolescents and adults navigating mental health concerns, life transitions, past experiences and patterns they want to better understand or change.
Support for couples working through communication difficulties, recurring conflict, disconnection and other challenges affecting their relationship.
Therapy focused on understanding family dynamics, improving communication and addressing patterns or conflicts affecting relationships within the family.
A therapist-led setting where individuals can explore shared concerns, gain different perspectives and learn alongside others navigating similar experiences.

UNDERSTANDING
BEFORE ASSUMING
Before we ask how to change something, we want to understand why it’s there.
A pattern that’s creating problems now may have developed for a reason. Understanding where it came from helps us figure out whether it’s still serving you and what might work better now.

Therapy doesn’t require perfect participation.
I don’t expect you to walk into therapy knowing exactly what to say, what needs to change or how you’re supposed to get there.
Some sessions feel productive. Others are uncomfortable, frustrating or uneventful. Sometimes therapy sucks. That doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.
My job is to stay curious, ask questions and help you understand what may be contributing to what you're experiencing.
